Encounter God in Genesis: The Beginning of Redemption

Our world is in tatters and beyond anything we could ever hope to mend. But God from the outset makes clear that he intends to do what we cannot. Genesis provides the threads with which he will work down through history. While the labor will take millennia to complete, these threads will run all the way through to the tapestry’s final rows. Taking stock of their qualities in Genesis will train us to recognize how God is not only restoring the world’s tapestry but also binding together the tattered fragments of our own stories. As in the days of Genesis, so also today he is at work amid pain, poverty, betrayal, even death. And he will not rest until the very ground upon which we walk is restored to its original perfection.
